Philippians 4:8 NASB
"Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things."
Titus 1:15 NASB
"To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled."
Matthew 6:22-23 NASB
“The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!"
To walk in purity is to have a heart and mind that looks for and sees what is right and true in all things. Taking them to heart, meditating on them, pondering them till they become the lens through which we view ourselves and life around us. We believe exactly who we are in Christ, our new position, who He has made us. Our eyes are made for holiness, the Lord before us at all times. We are saints and thus we are compelled to act like saints, for that is what we are.
We see our brothers and sisters in Christ no longer from a human point of view, but in their new, true essence and nature. We bear in mind that those in the world have been created in the image of God, within reach of His everlasting promises. We see Him working in all those He has created, from the weak to the strong, from the least to the greatest. We see in purity because we are seen in purity, God's Holy viewpoint. A light that outshines former misconceptions and lies, shaping a Godly and pure vision of ourselves.
In this our new vision, Gods desires are our desires. To have all spiritual blessings in the heavenly realms given through Christ to be lived out in our lives. To know and experience them, not the transient things of this world. For we set our minds on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. - Colossians 3:2 Filled with the Spirit, we well up from within and overflow as He promised.
We don't judge ourselves or others by mere sight, but rather, leaning into the power of God we see from His viewpoint, His perspective. Like Mary we sit at the feet of Jesus, in wonderment, humbly absorbing His presence. As a child’s mind is open, we too become like these little ones, open to the kingdom of Heaven, believing, and trusting in Him.
We seek the glory of the Lord and not our own. We promote Him and not ourselves. We praise Him for the beauty which surrounds us, declaring His awesomeness. His creation, displaying His greatness. His wonders shining through each one of us His children. In being created in His image, and recreated in His likeness, we shine forth His radiance. A view of our God to a world in need.
In possessing all things from above, we are free to let go of ourselves and fully inhabit the presence of the Lord. He is our everything, and from Him freely flows all good things. “THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.” "For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God." - 1 Corinthians 2:9-12
Let us fix our eyes on what is pure, our hearts and minds on what is true and lovely. For we have been brought into a new life through Gods marvelous grace. Gods abiding faithfulness will lead us into all He has prepared in advance for us to enjoy. This is our calling, our new position before God in Christ. To catch a glimpse of Him within, and to be forever changed. We are new, in holiness set apart, vessels for His own use. In this we find our everlasting purpose and fulfillment. To be filled to all the fullness of God.
"For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3:14-19
