"I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will continue to perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus the time of His return." (Philippians 1:6 AMP)
"For I know Him and I am personally acquainted with Him whom I have believed with absolute trust and confidence in Him and in the truth of His deity, and I am persuaded beyond any doubt that He is able to guard that which I have entrusted to Him until that day when I stand before Him." (2 Timothy 1:12 AMP)
We can be confident that in entrusting ourselves to God He will guard us, perfecting and completing us until we are gathered with Him for eternity. In all things, He is with us; we are never abandoned or left alone. His faithfulness does not depend on our transient feelings. His faithfulness transcends feelings because everything relies on Him, His work, and His power.
By entrusting ourselves to Him, we give ourselves over to His faithfulness. This is the process of believing in Him with all our hearts, trusting that He will fulfill His promises. The life we live is one of utter reliance on Him. It is He who will carry us through to the end.
To entrust is to let go and relinquish our control. The ultimate act of entrusting is to empty ourselves, to step out of ourselves, and to give ourselves over to God and His faithfulness. In emptying ourselves, we follow Christ’s example, who, in complete confidence in who He was, emptied Himself without fear of losing His identity. This act of complete confidence enables us to let go of ourselves and fully experience God.
Our position is steadfast and secure through God’s faithfulness. In entrusting ourselves to Him, we prepare ourselves as vessels to be used by Him, to be filled with what He has prepared for us. We step out of our old ways and into His way, embracing the present in Christ.
There is power in emptying ourselves because our reliance shifts from ourselves to His power. Letting go of our old selves is not about losing but preparing to gain all things. We usher in a greater abundance of our new life in Christ.
Let us have complete confidence in God and in who He has made us through His Son. By letting go, we trust in His ability to carry us through. We have a glorious life to look forward to and a glorious day that awaits us. Let His joy, a joy that comes from Him and is focused on Him alone, fill our hearts to overflowing.
